The Inclusive Leadership Co-operative is in our final month of preparations for our Annual Inclusive Leadership Gathering.

We are filling up quickly with some amazing new and experienced Inclusive Leaders (and families, friends, colleagues, students) who are coming for 1, 2, or all 3 days. You will meet members of the Inclusive Leadership Co-operative who are putting Inclusive Leadership into action in many ways. Some of us practice Inclusive Leadership by facilitating support groups, practice groups and inclusive community building projects.     Some of are directors, managers and co-ordinators of inclusive and welcoming businesses and non-profit societies. Some of our members are counsellors and other trained and experienced compassionate communicators.  Our membership includes environmental leaders, co-operative educators, yoga and zumba teachers, school teachers and many other educators. ILC members include musicians, dancers, visual artists, gardeners, farmers, activists and other creative community-builders.

You will meet groups and teams of Inclusive Leaders from as far away as Texas, USA and as close to home as Duncan, Canada. So far we have board members and support workers from a micro-board, a group coming from a student housing co-operative, a team building a world that includes people who have epilepsy and other chronic illnesses, a Standing Up For Inclusion steering committee,  youth leaders from a demonstration permaculture community, summer staff from a marine science camp, and a community-based social planning team.

You will meet parents, grandparents and their children – ranging from babies to middle-aged adults who love exploring, sharing, and celebrating diversity with their families.

You will meet secondary and post secondary school students , teachers, volunteers, and community workers who are actively engaged in building welcoming and inclusive schools and communities.

You will experience some great participatory workshops: Creating a Unity Flag, Connecting with Differences, Anti-Discrimination First Aid, Communicating with Compassion, Creative Motion Ways, Creating a Culture of Inclusion, the Earth Charter, a Journey into the Heart of Nature, Reconnecting to Life, An Inter-planetary communication simulation!, small group sharing and so much more.

We’ve got swimming, social time, music time, art time, nature time, an inclusive community celebration, delicious meals in a wonderful lakeshore venue at Cowichan Lake Education Centre.

We keep our costs low through the spirit of generosity. Pay from $10 to $400 depending on what you can afford, how much time you will be spending with us and what accommodation choices you make. Come on your own or bring a group. Click here to go to the website for all the information about costs.
